August 11 - Titanfall 2 developer Respawn revealed a new teaser trailer for the game's Story mode.
August 11 - Microsoft acquired the livestreaming service Beam. The streaming app takes the watch and chat experience of watching live gaming and adds the ability of viewers to more directly influence the play of the streamer. Details on the acquisition can be found at the Microsoft News Center.
August 13 - Chinese team Wings Gaming surprised the professional DotA 2 community by winning The International 6 (Ti 6) tournament. As the new champions Wings will take home just over $9 million of the over $20 million prize pool. Overall Ti 6 was a tumultuous affair with many long standing fan favorites losing out early in the tournament and a lot of hard fought upsets.
August 13 - Rumors from multiple sources of Kotaku say that Final Fantasy XV will be delayed. The game was originally slated for a September 30 release and is rumored to be delayed to November 29.
